PETCO FOUNDATION GRANT RECEIVED

Petco Foundation Invests In Lifesaving Work of Tombstone Small Animal Shelter
Grant of $5000 will extend efforts to save more animal lives in Greater Tombstone Area

Tombstone, December 2015– Tombstone Small Animal Shelter of Tombstone, AZ today announced it has been awarded a $5000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its animal health and welfare program.

Tombstone Small Animal Shelter is a nonprofit organization. It is a no-kill shelter working to find homes for all abandoned/surrendered cats and dogs in the greater Tombstone Area. To provide the best possible care until those homes can be found and to educate to community and help all area cats and dogs to be spayed/neutered and receive health care when needed. Since 1977 Tombstone Small Animal Shelter has helped hundreds of cats and dogs find their forever home.

The Petco Foundation investment will help to maintain a level of continuity at the shelter. This grant is to be used for the express purpose of a Custodial Stipend.

“It’s very difficult to get volunteers to feed and clean the animals on a regular basis and with continuity. Having the Petco Foundation grant enables us to offer a stipend to provide that necessary function. We are extremely grateful to receive the grant to allow us to continue providing our animals the quality of life they deserve and maintain the reputation we have worked hard to achieve.” said Elaine Perry, President.

About the Petco Foundation
At the Petco Foundation, we believe that every animal deserves to live its best life. Since 1999, we’ve invested more than $135 million in lifesaving animal welfare work to make that happen. Working with thousands of animal welfare partners, we inspire and empower communities to make a difference by investing in adoption and medical care programs, spay and neuter services, pet cancer research, service and therapy animals, and numerous other lifesaving initiatives. Through our Think Adoption First© program, we partner with Petco stores and animal welfare organizations across the country to increase pet adoptions. So far, we’ve helped more than 4.2 million pets find their new loving families, and we’re just getting started. Visit petcofoundation.org to learn more about how you can get involved.
